Karen Watford Mullins

As the Academic Affairs Coordinator, Karen Watford Mullins supports the development of proposals for new programs and program modifications across all departments within the School of Education guided by school, university, state and regional policies. She helps facilitate the work of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies, notably by developing curriculum proposals and resource needs as well as coordinating communication between the associate dean’s office, staff, faculty, and curriculum committees.

Karen brings over 20 years of experience in K-12 education to VCU. She has taught English (middle and high school), Elementary Gifted and Talented, and Technology. She also held K-12 leadership positions working as a Literacy Coach and High School English Curriculum &  Instructional Specialist. She is excited to bring her education, training, and experience to the VCU School of Education.
