Bio

Dorton previously served as the student engagement and programming manager at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Global Education Office. She has nine years of experience in international education. Her areas of interest include international student success and support, culture shock and cultural competence. 

As assistant director of the International Educational Studies Center, Dorton will continue to support international students within the School of Education. She will also work with School of Education faculty and partner universities to develop academic and cultural exchange programs.
